Don't think this museum is just for kids - it's a phenomenal attraction that has broad family appeal. Housed beneath a giant silver ball that looks as if it's landed from another planet, this is a hands-on science centre with hundreds of interactive exhibits. Permanent galleries explore themes such as biology, natural history and physics .... you can blow square bubbles, freeze your shadow on a wall, create a cyclone or make music with your toes while uncovering the secrets of the universe. You can even crawl through a beaver lodge or see the inner workings of an oversized beehive. Then there are the temporary exhibitions from around the world that make this a `do-over-and-over-again' attraction. Grossology's a recent favorite featuring everything you wanted to know about the human body and how it works in hilarious graphic detail. For example, the science of a sneeze is illustrated by kids hurling balls at a GIANT nose which expels them all with an enormous AH..AH..AHCHOO! Be sure to include a visit to the mind blowing 3D Laser Theatre featuring incredible special effects and fascinating shows on a variety of scientific topics, as well as the ALCAN OMNIMAX presentation. You're not watching a film here - you're in it since it boasts one of the world's largest dome screens and a powerful 10,000 watts, 28 speaker strong sound system!
